Songs of Glimmerwick patch notes

Quick answer

1.08 fixed the morning ocean-camera bug but existing saves need the previous night's save loaded. 1.07 added shift + right click quick transfer and sorting; 1.06 fixed the dorm soft lock.

Songs of Glimmerwick has shipped six numbered patches since launch, and the most recent one (1.08, October 23) contains a warning worth reading before you do anything else: if your camera already started pulling toward the ocean in the morning, loading your save from the night before is the fix. The patch stops the bug from happening again; it does not repair a save that already has it.

Everything below comes from the developer's Steam announcements. Fixes are grouped by what they change for a player, not by patch number order.

1.08 (October 23) — the save warning

  • Item info cards added to containers — the tooltip you get on shop items now appears on storage too.
  • Camera regression fixed. A morning camera pull toward the ocean was introduced by an earlier patch; 1.08 removes it. Existing saves with the bug need the previous night's save loaded.
  • Clover missing from the fireplace repair fixed.
  • Two Clovers during finals fixed. The duplicate came from a quest conflict, and a second duplicate during her fishing sequence was fixed in the same pass.
  • HQ door locked during the restoration chat, so the scene cannot be interrupted.
  • Trigger portals were interactive — pressing spacebar on one could double-trigger it. Closed.
  • Price display in info cards corrected.
  • Soft lock in the secret meeting room if you entered the trigger portal before using the key. Fixed.
  • Infinite fox exploit from moving the habitat after getting a pet. Fixed.

1.07 (October 21) — inventory quality of life

This is the patch that makes the inventory bearable:

  • Quick transfer for mouse and keyboard: shift + right click.
  • Sort function for the player inventory and containers.
  • A tutorial modal for stack splitting and quick transfer, so the buttons are not a guess.
  • Bigger UI and text on Steam Deck, part of the deck verification work.
  • Codrin's quest camera bug fixed — waking up in the morning could pull the camera into the void.
  • Locked-in-dorm bug while Clover is sick fixed.
  • Item info card debug text (basil and a placeholder description) fixed.
  • Quick transfer now rejects non-droppable items instead of pretending to move them.
  • Celia prank scene soft lock from an Acorn quest conflict fixed.
  • Day-skipping by rapidly clicking the day-end income confirm fixed.
  • Witchfire added to the waterfall guy's shop, missing music in the apple toss game restored, free flour from the miller fixed, and a collision hole near Mel's shell closed.

1.06 (October 12) — the dorm showstopper

  • Trapped in your dorm while Clover drafts with Peony — the fix for the worst soft lock in this run of patches. It triggered if you finished Codrin's quest one day earlier, or if the Forbidden Potions quest was about to start.
  • Aya's conversation hub could be inaccessible, which locked the clothes shop and stalled Reed's quest. Fixed.
  • Quick transfer not registering Florian's fish rewards fixed.

Earlier patches worth knowing (1.03–1.05)

Not every fix needs its own section, but three are the kind players still search for:

  • 1.05: Arthur actually takes the 15k when you buy the broom (he previously did not), an infinite money exploit with Sera's shop was closed, and leaving the summer festival early could soft lock the game.
  • 1.04b: the fishing minigame accessibility option was added — if the minigame is the reason you stopped playing, this is the setting to look for. A popup also warns demo players who own the full game, which fixed the "my save won't load" reports from people launching the demo by mistake.
  • 1.03: Kavita sells watering cans, for everyone who threw theirs behind the well and assumed it was gone. The apple toss winning threshold was lowered, and the Nocturne Forest picnic now accepts duplicate treats.

If you are stuck right now

  1. Camera pulling to the ocean in the morning → load the night-before save on 1.08. The bug will not recur.
  2. Trapped in the dorm → update to 1.06 or later; the trigger was quest-order dependent.
  3. Can't open Aya's shop → that was 1.06 as well.
  4. Inventory driving you mad → update to 1.07 and use shift + right click; sorting exists now.

What these patches did not change

  • Recipes, spell costs and song requirements are untouched across 1.06–1.08. If a guide disagrees with your game about a recipe, the patch is not the reason.
  • Story flags are not reset. The Clover duplicates were display/logic bugs, not save corruption.
